Invasive plants

The Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act 43 of 1983, as amended, regulates, amongst other things, ‘Weeds and invader plants’.
It places weeds and invader plants into three categories:

Category 1 - Weeds
Prohibited plants.
Category 2 - Declared invader plants
Plants with a commercial application that may only be grown in demarcated areas.
Category 3 - Declared invader plants
No further planting allowed. Existing plants must be prevented from spreading.

The table below contains some of the invader plants found in the Misty Cliffs area.
